Chase Daniel recently filed paperwork with the NFL committee for a formal evaluation. The NFL committee’s job is to determine where underclassmen may get drafted. The ‘ZOU nation is about to go into crisis mode but relax Tiger fans, relax…

Daniel has demonstrated that he has the talent that might translate into a professional career with the NFL. He is extremely accurate with his passes and makes smart decisions with the football. Chase has also shown he is an effective runner and is an above average scrambler. Chase has proven that he is a master at the spread offense and just might be the new wave of NFL quarterbacks.

Daniel would excel in the NFL if he plays in the right offensive scheme. “The Greatest Show on Turf” would have been an ideal offense for Daniel. Chase will need several targets to throw to as well as an above average tight end.

Chase Daniel has proven to be upstanding and loyal. So when Chase is quoted as saying, "It's going to be almost 99-to-one against me leaving. It has to be something special. When I committed here three years ago, I promised them four years to play.” ‘ZOU nation should take his word. He has earned our trust.

In Chase’s junior year of high school he was not actively recruited by the boy boys of college, but Coach Gary Pinkel saw something special in the Texas bred quarterback. Coach Pinkel actively recruited Daniel and received a commitment. Chase went on to have a monster senior year and suddenly the big boys came knocking. Texas coach Mack Brown started to actively pursue Chase but he turned them down because of his commitment to Mizzou.

Just to put things into perspective, Chase Daniel’s favorite school growing up was Texas. If given the choice to play football at Texas or Mizzou circa 2004 I would probably be attending Texas. Chase did not back out on his commitment to Mizzou and he will not jump ship with Mizzou on the cusp of Greatness.
