1. Tim Tebow – QB – Florida - Sophomore
Ht: 6-3 Wt: 235lbs Hometown: St. Augustine, FL
QB Rating: - 177.8
Passing - 3132 yds 29 TD 6 INT 68.5% Comp
Rushing - 838 yds 22 TD
Analysis: Tim Tebow has done something that no other quarterback in college football history, rushed for 22 touchdowns and passed for 29 touchdowns. 51 total touchdowns in one year is a great accomplishment. I’m not a big fan of giving the Heisman trophy to a
sophomore, but the fact is, Tebow has just been that good. That’s a lot of touchdowns for a guy that is playing in the SEC. He may not be finished with records down in Florida, as his potential is screaming to become the next Archie Griffin and win two Heisman trophies or possible three. Maybe another national championship might be on the horizon should he stay all four years.

2. Darren McFadden – RB – Arkansas - Junior
Ht: 6-2 Wt: 205lbs Hometown: North Little Rock, AR
Rushing - 1725 yds 15 TD
Receiving - 164 yds 1 TD
Passing - 123 yds 4 TD
Analysis: To all who may not know this, Darren McFadden is the best athlete in the country. He will most likely be the #1 NFL Draft Pick. McFadden is big enough at 6-2 205, but as a senior in high school ran the 40 yard dash in 4.37. This number can only be faster now, and we will find out when the NFL combines roll around. No chance with the loss of Houston Nutt does McFadden return for his senior year, and why should he. He has already posted huge numbers in the SEC, as he rushed for 1647 yards as a sophomore while finishing second in last years Heisman voting. It’s time for Darren to say goodbye to college football, he will be playing on Sunday’s next season.

3. Chase Daniel – QB – Missouri - Junior
Ht: 6-0 Wt: 225lbs Hometown: Southlake, TX
QB Rating: - 151.9
Passing - 4170 yds 33 TD 10 INT 69.7% Comp
Rushing - 284 yds 4 TD
Analysis: Chase Daniel is one of the most poised quarterbacks I have seen in a very long time in college football. With a ton of weapons outside, Daniel has flat out delivered for the Tigers this season. I know fellow Tigers fans are disappointed at the ending to this fabulous season, but Chase Daniel exceeded expectations by leading his team to its first number one season ranking since 1960. Chase will most likely return for his senior season, and most likely return as a Heisman finalist next season.

4. Colt Brennan – QB – Hawaii - Senior
Ht: 6-3 Wt: 196lbs Hometown: Laguna Beach, CA.
QB Rating: - 166.3
Passing - 4174 yds 38 TD 14 INT 71.4% Comp
Rushing - 65 yd 8 TD
Analysis: Colt Brennan in my opinion is the second best pure quarterback in this years Heisman class, next to Chase Daniel. He quarterbacks an NFL offense in the Run and Shoot style taught by June Jones. Props to Brennan who came back for his senior year and lead his team to an undefeated season. He has had a phenomenal year but the fact is, Colt you do not play with the big boys. I know you are probably sick of hearing that, but sorry you went to Hawaii. It’s been nice for you in paradise, hope you enjoyed Hawaii, but good luck in the NFL.

5. Dennis Dixon – QB – Oregon - Senior
Ht: 6-4 Wt: 200lbs Hometown: Oakland, CA.
QB Rating: - 161.2
Passing – 2136 yds 20 TD 4 INT 67.7% Comp
Rushing – 538 yds 9 TD
Analysis: I have to put Dennis Dixon in my final top five. I hate to see great runs and seasons come to an end due to injury. That is what happened to this exciting player from Oregon. If Dennis Dixon does not get injured who knows how the championship game would have played out. He was on pace to have one of the most remarkable seasons in college football history, as he had only thrown 4 interceptions. It truly is unfortunate that Dixon’s season was cut short due to injury but the fact is to win the Heisman you must be healthy. I believe had he not been injured he would have won the Heisman running away but injuries are a part of the game.
